How to treat Hair Fall problem at home!!

Losing hair is the worst nightmare for both men and women. Thinning & receding hairlines worry us a lot it affects one’s self-esteem. There can be many causes for hair fall like Nutritional deficiencies, Hormonal Imbalance, Thyroid Issues, Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), Birth Control Pills, Stress, pollution, Hairstyling products, Medical Conditions, and many more.
Our Kitchen can be of real help to stop hair fall. Try these home remedies

Herbal Tips:

Coconut Oil: this oil is best for hair care. It not only nourishes hair and hydrates them but also helps fight dandruff and other scalp issues. Either apply coconut oil as it is, massage and wash your hair after 20 minutes or warm 2-3 spoons of oil, massage and wrap a hot towel followed by a wash.

Egg Mask: Eggs are rich in phosphorous, sulphur, selenium protein, and zinc. All of these together strengthen the hair strands, promote hair growth prevent split ends. Mix 1 egg with a teaspoon of olive oil and honey, use a brush to apply to the root and tips. Wash with a mild shampoo after 25 min.

Licorice Root: This product is a natural remedy for a healthy scalp that helps by the soothing dry, itchy, irritated scalp, reducing dandruff, stopping hair loss, and promoting healthy hair growth.
Make a paste of a tablespoon of ground licorice root and a quarter teaspoon saffron to one cup of milk. Apply this to your scalp and hair length, leave it on overnight, and then shampoo.


Coconut Milk: Rich in essential fats and proteins, coconut oil helps in promoting hair growth and preventing hair loss, and moisturizing hair.
Heat the coconut milk in a bowl until it is slightly warm. Massage it through your hair and leave for 30 minutes. Use a shower cap to avoid the mess.

Green Tea: Rich in antioxidants, green tea boosts hair growth and prevents hair fall.
Soak two-three teabags in one-two cups of hot water depending on the length of your hair. Once cool, apply the liquid to your hair like a hair mask and then shower or use it as a conditioner at the end of your shower.
Beetroot Juice: Beetroot is rich in vitamins C and B6, manganese, folate, betaine, and potassium, all of these promote hair growth. Beetroot also helps to tighten the pores of the scalp and reduce hair loss.
Make a paste of 7-8 boiled beetroot leaves along with 5-6 henna leaves. Apply this paste on your scalp and leave for 15-20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.


Greek Yoghurt and Honey: It makes the roots stronger and helps the follicles get all the needed nourishment. Honey provides sufficient moisture to the scalp and hair.
Mix 2 tablespoons of yogurt with 1 tablespoon of honey and lemon in a bowl, apply this paste to the scalp and roots. Leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing with cold water.


Aloe Vera is an effective home remedy for hair fall and aids hair growth. It is also effective in reducing scalp problems like itching and flaking leaving the hair soft and shiny.
Cut a branch of the aloe vera plant in half and scoop out the gel. Apply it directly to your scalp and hair length. Massage and leave it for 30 minutes and then it washes off.


Fenugreek Seeds: Loaded with proteins, fenugreek seed helps strengthen the hair and scalp and helps in hair regrowth. Soak 1 cup of seeds in water overnight, make a paste by grinding it, add an egg yolk, and mix well. Massage the scalp and wait for 30 minutes and then shampoo your hair.


Onion Juice: Onion juice is believed to fight against scalp infections because of its antibacterial properties, while the Sulphur improves blood circulation hence promoting hair growth.
Grind the onion and then squeeze out the juice. Apply it to your scalp with a cotton ball. Leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash it off using normal water and a mild shampoo.


Amla: Indian Gooseberry is very useful in controlling hair fall and greying of hair. Make a paste of amla juice and amla powder, massage it and leave it for an hour but don’t let it dry (wear a shower cap) and rinse it with normal water.

Massage is also known to improve blood flow, the health of the scalp, and moisture. Use any of the oil(coconut oil, argan oil, amla, sesame, or almond)suited to your hair and scalp.


Take a Nourishing diet including lots of fluids and fibers, green leafy vegetables, eggs, dry nuts, etc. Practice Yoga to release stress and some sweat. Avoid tight hairstyles, combing wet hair, too many chemicals & heating in hair. Understand your hair and scalp and accordingly use the shampoo and conditioner.
